Eight cyber tribunals working across country

Law Minister Anisul Huq has said that a cyber-tribunal had been set in Dhaka for the first in 2013 to settle information technology related cases. Later, seven more cyber tribunals have been set up each in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh in 2019 as cases increase in the fields. Currently, there are a total of eight cyber tribunals across the country to settle the cases related to cyber-crimes. If needed, new tribunal would be set up after reviewing number of cases in future.
He made the remarks in response to a question from Bhola-3 MP Nurunnabi Chowdhury during the Jatiya Sangsad session on Tuesday (April 5).
Responding to another question from MP Mamunur Rashid Kiran, the law minister said a grant of Tk 4,04,94, 228 has been given from the funds of the district committee for the cases of 1,806 helpless candidates in the 2018-19 fiscal year. In the current fiscal year, Tk 3,08,14,506 has been allotted to district committee fund.
