Advance train ticket sale ends today, Eid journey begins

Sale of advance train tickets is underway at Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital marking the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. Today (April 27) is the last day of advance ticket sale, and authorities are selling the tickets for May 1.

If Eid is celebrated May 3, then tickets for May 2 will be sold on 28.

Special Eid trains started their journey from Wednesday morning, sources said.

Sale of advance train tickets began at 8:00 am which will continue till 4:00 pm. People are collecting tickets from 18 counters.

Advance ticket sale for inter-city trains began on April 23.  Tickets for April 27, 28, 29 and 30 were sold on April 23, 24, 25 and 26 respectively.

The authorities of Bangladesh Railway will start sale of return tickets from May 1.

Fifty percent tickets are being sold from counters and the rest online.

According to sources, people used to gather at Kamalapur Railway Station to fetch train tickets every year. But last two years this scenario was not seen as tickets were given online due to Covid-19.
