Former finance minister Abdul Muhith’s first janaza held

First namaz-e-janaza of former Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith was held at Gulshan’s Azad Mosque in the capital after 11:00am today.
Before janaza, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, also the younger brother of Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, said, “His body will be kept at Azad Mosque premises for some time following his first namaz-e-janaza at the mosque. Later, his body will be kept at the Central Shaheed Minar for the people to pay their last tribute to him.”
“His body will be later taken to Sylhet. He will be laid to eternal rest at family graveyard following his second namaz-e-janaza after Zohr prayer tomorrow,” he added.
Muhith’s second namaz-e-janaza was supposed to be held at parliament premises but it was later cancelled.
Former finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith passed away at the age of 88 years. He breathed his last at 12:50am on Saturday (April 30) at United Hospital in the capital while undergoing treatment there.
