Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury`s body to arrive in Dhaka May 28

The body of language movement veteran and prominent columnist Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury will arrive in Dhaka on Saturday (May 28).

In a press release, Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) Saida Muna Tasneem confirmed the matter on Wednesday (May 25).

London has completed the entire process of sending the body of late Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury to Bangladesh under state management at the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said the press note.

She said, "We hope that, if all goes well, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will depart from London's Heathrow Airport on Friday evening and reach Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Saturday at noon Bangladesh time. Arrangements have also been made to send family members of the late Abdul Gaffar Choudhury to Dhaka on the same flight."

Earlier, Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury passed away at a hospital in London on May 19 last at the age of 88.
