BRTC launches Eid special buses

Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) launched ‘Eid Special Service’ from Monday (July 4) to ensure easy and comfortable journey for homebound people on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of Muslims.

To this end, advance ticket sales started from July 1 from the respective depots of BRTC. These Eid service buses will transport passengers to different districts of the country until July 12.

According sources of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, arrangements have been made to sell advance tickets on the following routes from Dhaka’s Motijheel, Joarsahara, Kallyanpur, Gabtoli, Mohammadpur, Mirpur, Jatrabari, Gazipur and Narayanganj (Chashara) bus depots.

Dhaka-Khulna, Daudkandi, Dinajpur, Rangpur and Netrokona routes are under Motijheel bus depot while Rangpur, Panchagarh, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Gaibandha, Kushtia, Rajshahi, Naogaon, Netrokona, Ranishankail, Thakurgaon, Dinajpur routes under Kalyanpur bus depot, Dhaka-Aricha, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Aricha and Paraya, Jessore route are Gabtoli Depot, Dhaka-Paysarhat, Bishbrod-Panchdona, Rangpur, Naogaon, Joypurhat, Tangail, Mymensingh and Bogra routes under Jowarsahara bus depot, Dhaka-Barisal, Rangpur, Kushtia, Bogra, Kurigram, Dinajpur, Mymensingh and Naogaon routes are under Mirpur Bus Depot.

Besides, Dhaka-Shariatpur, Faridpur, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bogra and Naogaon routes are under Mohammadpur bus depot while Bishbrod-Panchdona, Tangail, Netrokona, Mymensingh, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon and Kurigram routes are Gazipur depot and Dhaka-Rangpur, Shariatpur routes are under Jatrabari bus depot.

Meanwhile, Dhaka-Gosairhat, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Naogaon, Bogura, Gaibandha and Pabna routes are Narayanganj bus depot while Dhaka-Rangpur route is under Cumilla bus depot.

Passengers have been requested by Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) to avail the services of BRTC’s 'Eid Special Service'.

In order to facilitate the movement of passengers, 60 buses will be on standby at the following depots/terminals from Monday to provide emergency services to various depots/terminals in Dhaka: Jowarsahara Bus Depot, Mohammadpur Bus Depot, Gazipur Chourasta, Hemayetpur Bus Stand and Chandra Bus Stand.
