Journalist Tuli commits suicide in frustration: Police

Journalist Sohana Parvin Tuli has allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself out of frustration over unsuccessful in profession and business.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hazaribagh Thana Mokhtaruzzaman said on Thursday noon that they were primarily suspecting the incident to be a case of suicide.
He said that the actual cause of her death would be ascertained after her post-mortem examination.
The police recovered the body of the female journalist from her apartment at Rayer Bazar in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon.
The journalist worked for the online news portal Banglatribune.com. She recently began to operate an e-commerce business page, the police said.
Sohana’s parents live in Jashore and brother live in Hazaribagh area.
One of her friends went to her apartment in the afternoon as she could not contact Sohana, said the police officer and added that the door was locked from inside.
The friend and the building caretaker broke open the door and found the hanging body. On information, the police recovered the body.
Her Banglatribune colleagues said that Sohana left the job as a senior sub-editor in April, 2021.
