Fuel price hike: Protesters vandalize police vehicle

A police vehicle was vandalized from a procession brought out at the capital’s Shyamoli in protest of price hike of fuel oils including diesel and petrol on Saturday (August 6).
Utpal Barua, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sher-e-Bangla Police Station, said on Saturday noon, “A protest procession was brought out against the price hike of fuel oils. We came to know a police vehicle was vandalized during from the procession.”
He, however, could not tell the vehicle belonged to which police station.
According to witnesses, agitated people brought out procession from in front of Shishu Mela in Shyamoli around 2:00 pm. Then, they stopped a police vehicle that was crossing the area and vandalized it.
