Bangladesh receives $2.03 billion remittance in August

Bangladesh has received USD $2.03 billion remittances in August, which is 12.6% higher than same month of previous year (fiscal year 2021-22).
Bangladesh Bank (BB) published the updated information on Thursday (September 1).
In August of last year, the country received $181.1 billion remittance.
According to the Bangladesh Bank report, the country received $2.09 billion remittance from the migrants overseas, in July, the first month of fiscal year 2022-23, which was the highest in the last 14 months. The inward remittance flow was $1.87 billion in July and $1.81 in August in fiscal year 2021-22.
The concerned people of the sector opined that compared to the previous fiscal year, remittances were quite dynamic this year. This remittance inflow will help increase the dollar supply.
