Govt to buy rice at Tk 42 per kg, paddy at Tk 28

The government will buy per kilogram of Aman paddy at Tk 28 while rice at Tk 42 this season.

Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder said this on Tuesday (November 1).

He said, “The government will procure 3 lakh tonnes of paddy and 5 lakh tonnes of rice this Aman season.”

The procurement activities will begin on November 10, he added.

Last year, the government procured Aman paddy at Tk 27 a kg and rice at Tk 40 per kg.
