Transport strike called in Rajshahi from Dec 1

Transport owners and workers called an indefinite strike in eight districts of Rajshahi division from December 1 demanding a ban on illegal vehicles on road.
The decision came after a joint meeting of the Rajshahi Division Road Transport Owners-Workers' Unity Council in Natore on Saturday (November 26).
President of the transport owners and workers organization Safkat Manzur Biplob presided over the meeting where district Awami League general secretary and Sadar Upazila Parisad Chairman Shariful Islam Ramzan and others attended.
Later they announced the strike to press home their 11-point demand, including banning CNG and battery-run auto-rickshaws on road.
