DNCC Councillor office to issue birth certificate

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has taken an initiative to provide birth registration certificates to its dwellers from the Councillor offices to reduce public suffering and make the birth registration process easier.
The summary in this regard has been sent to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives for final approval.
The local councillorwill be the registrar for birth registration if final approval is received. Secretary of the councillor office will be the assistant registrar. As a result, no one will have to go to the regional office.
DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam came up with the disclosure in the 18th corporation meeting held at the head office of DNCC Nagar Bhaban on Sunday (November 27).
Currently, in case of birth registration, it has to be collected from DNCC regional office on time. As a result, common people have to suffer. Hence, it was decided to take it up to the ward level, keeping in mind to ease the public suffering.
In the corporation meeting, it was decided to name three roads as ‘Bir Muktijoddha Din Mohammad Mollah’, ‘Bir Muktijoddha Abdul Aziz’ and ‘Bir Muktijoddha Amir Hossain Mollah’ at Shialbari Mor area in Mirpur section 13 and 14.
In addition, the meeting discussed several issues including Aedes and Culex mosquito eradication and crush program to clean water bodies, purchase of 6 katha land for construction of cemetery, agreement to implement tree plantation program, street vendor management program in public sector.
