Two children to stay with Japanese mother

The two children, who were brought from Japan to Bangladesh by their father, Bangladesh-born US citizen Imran Sharif, will stay in the custody of their mother Japanese citizen Nakano Eriko.

Judge Durdana Rahman of Dhaka's Second Additional Assistant Judge and Family Court passed the order on Sunday afternoon (January 29).

Lawyer of the Japanese mother Nakano Eriko said the court dismissed the case filed by Bangladeshi father engineer Imran Sharif to keep his two children in his custody. So, the two children are going to stay with their mother.

Sharif Imran, an American citizen of Bangladeshi descent, married Nakano in 2008. The couple has three children.

After 12 years of marriage, on January 18 last year, Nakano, a physician, appealed for divorce from engineer Sharif over marital dispute. But on February 21, Imran returned to Bangladesh with their two girls from Japan.
