Bangladesh seeks fuel from Saudi with deferred payment

Bangladesh has called upon Saudi Arabia to provide fuel with deferred payment to meet the domestic energy needs of the country due to the Russia-Ukraine war situation.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen made the urge when Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Issa Youssef Issa Al-Dahilan had a courtesy call with him On Wednesday (February 1).

The Saudi ambassador assured to convey this proposal with the appropriate authorities of his country.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on mutual interests related to bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Welcoming the Saudi ambassador to his office, the Foreign Affairs Minister praised him for his dynamic role in the development of bilateral relations. The Ambassador also expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Minister for all his support and cooperation.

The ambassador handed over a letter from Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud to the minister. In the letter, the Foreign Minister was invited to pay an official visit to Saudi Arabia to review and accelerate the ongoing mutual cooperation. The Foreign Minister accepted the invitation, thanked the Ambassador and said that the schedule for the visit would be fixed through diplomatic channels.
