Businessman sent to jail for having extra marital affairs with expatriate’s wife

A businessman has been sent to jail for having extra marital affairs with expatriate’s wife and making offensive videos and showing intimidation at Morelganj of Bagerhat.

The accused was known as Sohail Sheikh (32), son of Babul Sheikh of Khaulia village of Morelganj upazila.

He was arrested from Sannyasi Bazar area of the upazila on Thursday (February 2) night.

It was learned that Sohail Sheikh owns an electronics store in Sanyasi Bazar. When the news of extra marital affairs spread out, the family locked into altercation. At one point she got separated from his wife.

According to police and case sources, the expatriate’s wife called Sohail to work on electrical lines and solar panels at home. Then the two started talking on the phone. At one point a love affairs develops between them. Then Sohail kept recording the offensive video of the woman. Later, Sohail demands physical relations and demanded money by threatening to spread out the offensive video. Later, the victim became the plaintiff and filed a case with the police station.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Morelganj Police Station Saidur Rahman said, “Sohail’s mobile phone was searched and objectionable videos were found. After the necessary legal process, when he was brought to the court, the judge issued an order to send him to jai
