Actress Mahiya Mahi sent to jail

Actress Mahia Mahi has been sent to jail after arrest from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in a case filed under Digital Security Act.

She was sent to jail around 1.30pm on Saturday, said Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Molla Nazrul Islam.

She was arrested around 10.30am and taken to Gazipur Chief Judicial Magistrate at noon.

The court passed an order to send her to jail, rejecting a seven-day remand plea.

Sub Inspector of Basan Thana of Gazipur city Mohammad Rokon Mia filed the case on Friday night.

Early Friday, Mahia Mahi and her husband alleged on their facebook pages that miscreants led by Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner attacked their car showroom to occupy it.
