Markets to be monitored strictly during Ramadan: Commerce Minister

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has said that there is more food stock than the demand. There will be strict market monitoring during the month of Ramadan.

He said told this to the reporters after 6th meeting of the task force regarding the review of commodity prices and market conditions in the conference room of the Commerce Ministry on Sunday (March 19).

Commerce Minister said I want to tell the nation that there is no reason to be afraid centering the month of Ramadan. We have enough products in stock. Chickpeas and onions are also plentiful. There will be strict market monitoring during Ramadan. We have taken the help of the Ministry of Home Affairs in the matter of transportation of goods by road. There is no scope for extortion in case of transportation of goods. Everything is being strictly monitored.

He said the demand and price of eggplant, cucumber, lemon, chicken meat and onion increase during Ramadan. This is being monitored. The country has enough stock of agricultural products. No reason to be worried.
