Poultry farms fix price of broiler chicken at Tk 195

Four major producers among the poultry association have committed to bring down chicken prices in the wholesale market. The maximum farm-level price of broiler chicken has been fixed at Tk190 to Yk195.

Kazi Farms, Paragon Poultry and Hatchery, Aftab Bahumukhi Farms and CP Bangladesh made the announcement on Thursday (March 24).

AHM Shafiquzzaman, director general of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) said the step will create a positive impact in markets during Ramadan.

However, the price of the retail level is not fixed.

The government would open the borders to tackle the price of broiler chicken, he added.
