Tk 11cr snatching: Main accused confesses to crime

Akash Ahmed Babul, the main planner in the snatching of around Tk 11.25 crore of Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd (DBBL), has confessed to the crime.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim recorded confessional statements of Akash on Sunday. Later, the court ordered the police to send him to jail.

Inspector Saju Mia of BD Police produced him before the court, seeking a 10-day remand.
Sub Inspector of Turag Thana Liakat Ali confirmed the news.

On March 9, about Tk 11.25 crore was robbed from a vehicle carrying Dutch-Bangla Bank's money from Uttara area in capital Dhaka.

Later, the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police claimed to have recovered around Tk 6.43 crore out of the robbed money and detained eight people in this connection.
