Additional police deployed in front of Prothom Alo office

An additional police force has been deployed in front of the office of the country’s leading newspaper, Prothom Alo at Karwan Bazar in the city.

Additional policemen have been deployed for the security of journalists and staff of Prothom Alo, police sources said.

Earlier, Prothom Alo authorities applied to the police seeking security measures, they also said on Thursday noon.

A case has been filed against Matiur Rahman, editor of the Prothom Alo, with Ramna Thana under the Digital Security Act.

A man named Abdul Malek alias Mashiur Malek filed the case on Wednesday night against Matiur Rahman, reporter Shamsuzzaman Shams, an unnamed assistant cameraman and unnamed others.

Shamsuzzaman Shams has also been arrested in another case under DSA.
