We determined to continue media freedom: Info Minister

Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud said, “Our government has ensured the freedom of the media. We are determined to continue the freedom of the media. We think that the freedom of media is related to the development of the state and the development of democracy. At the same time, we have a collective responsibility. In the name of freedom, if any of us do evil journalism, then the people of the country and the journalistic society will definitely not support it.”

He said this at a press conference on contemporary issues at his residence of Dewanji Pond area in Chattogram city on Friday (March 31).

Regarding the arrest of Prothom Alo journalist Shamsuzzaman, 12 countries including America, have given a statement whether it is interference in our internal affairs, the information minister said, “A statement has been given by the embassies of 12 countries on their websites.
