Cyclone forecast in April

There is a possibility of a cyclone in the current month April. Alongside, there is a possibility of flash floods in the north-eastern part of the country.
The meteorological department’s long-term forecast for the month of April revealed the information on Sunday (April 2).
According to the forecast, there will be more rain than usual in the country in April. In this month, the country may experience three to five days of light or moderate thunderstorms with hail and one to two days of severe monsoon.
The forecast also said one to two low pressure areas may form in the Bay of Bengal in April, one of which may develop into a cyclone. Apart from this, two to three mild and moderate heatwaves may occur in April.
Meteorologist Md Omar Farooq said there is a little chance of a cyclone before middle of the month. Cyclone is likely after mid.
He also said the temperature will increase in a few days. There may be some rain in Sylhet region only. After that, there may be rain in different parts of the country on April 10 to April 11.
