A special session of the 11th Parliament opens on Thursday (April 6) marking the 50th anniversary of the legislature.
President Abdul Hamid will deliver a memorial speech in the parliament highlighting the country's achievements. It would be the last speech of the outgoing President Abdul Hamid to the Parliament. His two-term term is going to end on April 23.
The special session of parliament is likely to continue for four working days, sources at the parliament secretariat, said.
Earlier, President Abdul Hamid convened the session exercising the power bestowed upon him by Article 72 (1) of the constitution, said parliament secretariat sources on Wednesday (April 5).
The session, the second session of this year, will begin at 11 am.
