Dhaka records highest temperature since 1965

Dhaka has recorded the highest temperature in 58 years since 1965.

The highest temperature recorded in the capital on Saturday (April 15) was 40.4℃, said Bazlur Rashid, meteorologist of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

Earlier the temperature of 40.2℃ was recorded in Dhaka on Friday (April 14).

In 1965, Dhaka recorded the highest 42℃ temperature.

Meteorologists say the air entering through the northern part of the country is carrying some water vapor. Due to the increase in humidity in the air, perspiration will also increase. The rest of the day may get hotter.

Meteorologist Md Tariful Newaz told the media that the intensity of the heat may continue for the next few days. As there are no clouds in the sky and the humidity in the air has decreased, the intensity of the heat is still not decreasing. In the next 24 hours, the intensity of heat may increase.
