Cyclone `Mocha` likely to hit Bangladesh on May 12

Cyclone Mocha is likely to hit the coast of Bangladesh. The depression over the Bay of Bengal would take the form of a cyclone in the next 48 hours.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the impact of cyclone Mocha may affect the coast of West Bengal and Odisha.

Mostofa Kamal Palash, a Ph.D. researcher on weather and climate at Saskatchewan University in Canada, said Cyclone Mocha is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal and may hit the coast of Bangladesh on May 12.

In a Facebook post, he said that the cyclone is likely to hit Bangladesh around 12 pm on May 12 through the coast of Chittagong, Noakhali, and Bhola districts.

However, the Department of Meteorology has not given any clear statement on this matter so far.
