Finance minister starts presenting budget

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal started presenting the budget of Tk 7,61,785 crore for the next fiscal year (2023-24) in the parliament.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury presided over the session which began at 3:00 pm.

In the proposed budget for FY24, the total revenue is estimated at Tk 5 lakh crore.

Of the amount, the target income of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) will be Tk 4 lakh 30 thousand crore.
