Tax-free income limit raised to Tk3.5 lakh

Individual tax-free income has been raised to Tk 3.5 lakh from the existing Tk 3 lakh in a bid to ease inflationary pressure on people.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Thursday (June 1) unveiled a Tk7,61,785 crore proposed national budget for the 2023–24 fiscal year in the national parliament.

This is the country's 52nd budget. It is the 23rd budget of the Awami League-led government.

Earlier, the cabinet approved it at a special meeting where the finance minister, other ministers, and state ministers concerned were present.
