No point of worries over US visa, sanctions: PM

Prime Minister greets people by shaking the hands

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her determination to make the country self-reliant without being dependent, saying, “Who will not give us visa, who will sanction us; There is no point in worrying about that.”

She said this while inaugurating the Dhaka District Awami League Bhaban (office of Dhaka district and Dhaka North City Awami League) as the chief guest at the Tejgaon industrial area in the capital on Saturday (June 3).

PM said, “In order to prevent global food crisis from affecting the people of Bangladesh, we should use the soil and increase production so that even an inch of land is not left uncultivated. We will walk on our own feet. We will build our own country, without being dependent on others.”

She said, “Who will not give us visa, who will sanction us; There is no point in worrying about that. It doesn’t matter if we don’t make the 20-hour plane journey across the Atlantic to America. There are many more oceans, continents in the world. We will travel and make friends with that continent. Our economy will be stronger, better, stronger.”

Sheikh Hasina said, “Those who steal votes, those who played with people’s fate; I would say look at that terrorist group. The High Court of Canada has declared BNP as a terrorist group. Because of this terrorist and corruption, America did not give visa to Tarique Zia to enter their country. They are now appealing to them.”
