‘Load shedding may continue for another two weeks’

State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that loadshedding has been increasing in the country amid the heatwave. This situation may continue for another two weeks.

The minister said this while addressing reporters at the secretariate in the capital on Sunday (June 4).

Meanwhile, the state minister expressed deep regret and apology to the countrymen for the excessive load shedding.

He said, “We have been working for the past two months to address the matter. But there are several challenges we need to tackle. The current economic situation as well as supply of oil and gas require focused efforts. However, we hope that the issue will be resolved within the next 10 to 15 days.”

He also said that the problem with electricity intensified as several power plants have not been in operation due to lack of sufficient coal and gas. But this is a temporary issue. There is nothing to be disappointed about it.
