“Food crisis, inflation made life unbearable”

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that food shortages, inflation, operating and transportation costs, electricity shortages have made everyone's life unbearable in the world.

The premier said this while participating in a condolence motion on ruling party lawmaker Afsarul Amin in the parliament on Sunday (June 4).

"We also need to augment food production. We have to try. None can say how long this unusual global situation would exist," she said.

She also said, "May be the situation could turn worse. But, for the food safety of the masses, we are doing everything."

Sheikh Hasina said that the price of everything from food items has gone up. Many people are losing their jobs even in developed countries. Such an unusual situation is going on worldwide. I don't know if this has ever happened. Maybe after World War I. After the Second World War, there was famine.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister urged all to maintain austerity in using electricity.
