Over 7,000 cases filed under Digital Security Act

Law Minister Anisul Haq has said that some 7,001 cases were filed under the Digital Security Act across the country as of January 31 of this year.

The minister came up with the disclosure in reply to a tabled question from Gonoforum lawmaker Mukabbir Khan on Monday (June 5).

In response to another query of Awami League lawmaker Abul Kalam Azad, the law minister said currently 36,70,670 cases are pending in the trial courts till March 31 of this year. Of which, the number of civil cases are 15,84,160 while criminal cases 20,86,510.
