Evaly founder Rassel gets bail

The High Court (HC) has granted bail to e-commerce company Evaly’s chief executive officer (CEO) Mohammad Rassel in a fraud case filed over allegedly embezzling money of a consumer.

The bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice Md Aminul Islam passed the order after declaring the rule appropriate in this regard on Monday (June 6).

Senior lawyer Ahsanul Karim stood for Rassel in the court while Deputy Attorney General Sarwar Hossain Bappi moved for the state.

Rassel, however, cannot get release from jail now as there are more cases against him.

On September 30, 2021, a consumer named Alamgir Hossain filed a case against Rassel and Shamima of Evaly with Badda police station under the Digital Security Act, alleging embezzlement of money by cheating through digital media.
