Serajul Alam Khan’s first janaza held

The first namaz-e-janaza of Serajul Alam Khan, one of the key organizers of the Liberation War and veteran politician, was held at 10 am on Saturday (June 10) on the premises of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the city.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) president ASM Abdur Rab, Nagarik Oikya president Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Ganosamhati Andolon chief coordinator Zonayed Saki, and some other political dignitaries, among others, attended the janaza.

Serajul Alam Khan, also known as Dada Bhai and mystery man of Bangladesh politics, will be buried at his family graveyard at Alipur village under Begumganj in Noakhali.

He breathed his last on Friday noon at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

He was 82 years.

Following the deterioration of his health condition, he was put on life support on Thursday night.

On May 20, he was admitted to Samorita Hospital at Panthapath. Later, he was shifted to DMCH.

The unmarried Serajul, who spent a long time in the United States, used to live with his brothers in Dhaka's Kalabagan area.
