Bodies of woman, daughter recovered in capital, husband held

Bodies of a woman and her daughter have been recovered from a house in the city’s Badda area.
The deceased were identified as Brishti Akter and her daughter Sanja Marwa.
Police, however, detained Brishti Akter’s husband Salim for questioning.
The incident took place early Wednesday (June 14).
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police outpost Md Masud Mia confirmed the matter.
He said, being informed, police went to the house and found Brishti Akter and Sanja in an unconscious state. They sent them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital's emergency department where duty doctors declared them dead at about 5:00am.
The bodies were kept at the hospital morgue, he added.
Salim claimed that his wife and daughter committed suicide by taking poison. Doctors, however, claimed that they found no evidence of poison in their bodies.
