Data not leaked from EC servers: NID DG

Director General of National Identity Card (NID) Registration Division AKM Humayun Kabir said the NID server of the Election Commission (EC) is safe and secure. No data has leaked from here.

The DG of NID said this while addressing a press conference at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon on Sunday afternoon (July 9).

He said 171 institutions and organization take services from us. No threats have been found on our server. Even if any error or vulnerability is found in this regard, we will cancel the contract.

He also said, "We have not encountered any problems with our data centre or management thus far. Our server has not exhibited any abnormal heat, and no information has been leaked from our end."

We are checking the matter. We will audit the partner site. A probe committee will be formed with ICT experts. Then necessary action will be taken, he added.
