18 Jewellery shops gutted in Mohammadpur fire

At least 18 jewellery shops were gutted by a fire at Mohammadpur Krishi market on Thursday (September 14).

Sources said Alif Jewellers, Hena Jewellers, Dubai Jewellers, Singapore Jewellers, Moon Jewellers, Riad Jewelers and Maa Jewelers were burnt completely. Nine gold shops inside of the market and nine more Jewellers shop out of the market were gutted.

The victims said each shop had gold ornaments worth Tk2 to Tk3 crore.

Earlier, a massive fire broke out at the Mohammadpur Krishi Market in Dhaka at around 3:43 am on Thursday (14 September). Later, a total of 17 units of the fire service brought the blaze under control 9:00am.
