What Shahriar says about EU not sending poll observers

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahrier Alam has said if the European Union (EU) will not send polls-time observation team it will have no impact on Bangladesh’s next national elections.

The state minister came up with the remark while replying to queries from journalists after attending an event on Bangladesh-Vietnam ties at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Thursday (21 September).

“The European Union did not inform us so far and we will tell you after getting information.  Whether the EU delegation comes or not, it will not affect the preparations for Bangladesh’s national election,” he said.
