Momen urges OIC members to help Gambia run Rohingya case

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen urged the OIC member states to help the Gambia with funds to run the case in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Rohingya genocide.

The minister made the call during a meeting of the OIC member states at the United Nations Headquarters on Thursday, said a press release on Friday (September 22).

Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister thanked the OIC for its role in bringing the Myanmar authorities responsible for Rohingya human rights violations.

Momen also said that Bangladesh has set up an example of religious harmony and peace under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina following the principles of peace, prosperity and development of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Mohamed Salem Ould Marzouk, foreign minister if Mauritania presided over the meeting where Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and members of OIC states attended.
