14 more die from dengue

14 more dengue patients died across the country in the past 24 hours till Saturday (September 23), raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 893.

According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 2,865 new dengue patients were hospitalised.

During the period, 814 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city while 2,051 were admitted to different hospitals outside it, the DGHS daily statement added.

With the new cases, the total number of patients rose to 1,84,717 the statement said, adding this year, some 1,73,252 patients were released from different hospitals out of the total patients.

A total of 10,572 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals. Of them, 3,794 are in Dhaka while 6,778 are outside of the capital city, it added.
