Dengue death toll surpasses 1000

17 more dengue patients died across the country in the past 24 hours till Sunday (October 1), raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 1,006.

According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 2,882 new dengue patients were hospitalised.

During the period, 629 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city while 2,253 were admitted to different hospitals outside it, the DGHS daily statement added.
