11 more die from dengue

11 more dengue patients died across the country in the past 24 hours till Monday (October 2), raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 1017.

According to a statement of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 2,596 new dengue patients were hospitalised.

Of the new patients, 607 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and the rest 1,989 outside the capital, DGHS said.

A total of 9,283 dengue patients, including 3,120 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.

So far, the DGHS has recorded 208,884 dengue cases and 198,584 recoveries this year.
