16 more die from dengue, 2564 hospitalised

16 more dengue patients died across the country in the past 24 hours till Wednesday, raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 1,046.

According to a statement of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 2,564 new dengue patients were hospitalised.

Of the new cases, 720 are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Dhaka and 1,844 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals outside Dhaka.

According to DGHS data, 9,284 dengue patients were undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country.

With the new cases, the total number of patients rose to 2,14,247, the statement said, adding this year, some 1,21,671 patients were released from different hospitals out of the total patients.
