Buses to ply during hartal: Owners association

Transport owners have decided to operate buses and minibuses during the hartal called by BNP for Sunday.

A press release signed by General Secretary of Dhaka Road Transport Owners’ Association said this on Saturday.

An emergency discussion was held with the association’s senior officials, Dhaka-based transport companies, route owners’ association, and labor leaders regarding the hartal and they have decided to operate buses, read the press release.

They have requested owners of transport associations and companies to maintain normal traffic on all routes on Sunday.

BNP has called countrywide dawn-to-dusk hartal for Sunday in protest against police attack on their rally.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the hartal from their Nayapaltan rally in the city on Saturday.
