Oggyan party gang leader held in city

Staff Correspondent: Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained five suspected Oggyan Party men including a mastermind of the gang, a staff of Sonali Bank from Motijheel area in capital on Wednesday noon.

The detainees are- Abul Basar, an official of Sonali Bank, Abdul Matin alias Oggyan Matin, Selim, Shimul and Abul Hossain.

Monirul Islam, Joint commissioner of DB made the disclosure at a press conference at DMP media centre in the city on Wednesday around 12:00pm.

Monirul Islam said that Abul Basar is working as a cashier at Motijheel Branch of Sonali Bank and he has a pharmacy named ‘Gausia’ from where he supplied medicine Ativan tablets to Oggyan party men.

Ativan is one kinds of sleeping pill which is a banned medicine in Bangladesh. Abul Basar imported the medicine in illegal way and sold them to criminals in high rates.
 
Police also seized 1800 pieces Ativan tablest from the detainees.
