Battery-run rickshaw driver swoop on city police boxes

Battery-run rickshaw drivers swooped on several police boxes in Mirpur of the capital on Friday (October 14), leaving a police constable injured. However, the situation came under control after deployment of additional cops.
Elias Hossain, Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Traffic Police Pallabi Zone told this to risingbd.
He said the police was conducting a drive around 10:00 am on Friday to prevent battery-run rickshaws from plying on main roads. At that time, the drivers got angry and attacked on police boxes.
It was learned two battery-run rickshaws were seized at Pallabi in the morning. When this news spread, the rickshaw pullers got angry and swooped on police boxes nearby. At this time, a constable named Mizanur Rahman sustained injuries. He was given first aid at a local hospital. Later, additional police were deployed.
