Students of Pabna University of Science & Technology torched 3 buses demanding uninterrupted electricity supply
Pabna Correspondent: The authorities of Pabna University of Science & Technology (PUST) on Saturday suspended academic activities following the incident of torching and vandalising cars in demand of uninterrupted electricity supply.
The university authorities also ordered to vacate all the residential halls within 5:00pm.
The decision was made during an emergency syndicate meeting around 8:00am after students of residential halls torched three university buses and vandasiled two more cars.
University sources said frequent power cuts and blackouts on the campus irked the students that might lead them to carry out the action.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Al Nakib Chowdhury said the university was set to go on Eid-ul-Azha vacation from September 7. But decision was taken to go on vacation from Sunday (August 28) following the incident of torching and vandalising cars.
