Jatiya Party announces 289 candidates

Jatiya Party has announced 289 candidates for the upcoming 12th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election.

Jatiya Party Secretary General Md Mujibul Haque Chunnu announced the list on Monday evening (November 27) at  a press briefing at the party chairman's office at Banani in the city.

Among the candidates, JP Chairman GM Quader will contest from Rangpur-3 and Dhaka-17.

His wife, JP MP from reserved seats, Sherifa Quader, will contest from Dhaka-18.

Mujibul Haque Chunnu did not announce any name for Mymensingh-4 as the party's chief patron and opposition leader Raushan Ershad can contest from this constituency.

The Gopalganj-3 constituency is left vacant as no candidate from the Jatiya Party sought nomination for the seat, which is currently held by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
