Jatiya Party chief patron and leader of the opposition in parliament, Raushan Ershad, announced that she will not participate in the next general election.
The Leader of the Opposition made the announcement at a briefing at her Gulshan residence in the capital on Wednesday night (November 29).
Expressing anger to Jatiya Party Chairman Golam Mohammad Kader, Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu, she said, “It is not possible for me to participate in the election because the party and leaders are being ignored.”
She said, “I participated in the 2014 and 2018 elections in the interest of the country and democracy. I welcomed the announcement of the election schedule this time too.”
‘I was preparing to participate in the upcoming election. At present, the party’s tested leaders and activists were not nominated as the Jatiya Party chairman and secretary general did not cooperate in participating in the election,’ she said.
