Govt will not hinder BNP’s peaceful programs: Obaidul Quader

Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that the government will not hinder any peaceful program of BNP.

The Awami League (AL) general secretary said this at a press conference held at the AL president’s Dhanmondi political office in the capital on Tuesday.

The government will resist the BNP’s programs if violent activities like terrorism are added to its movement, he said.

Questioning about the BNP’s 54-party alliance, Quader said, “I want to know from the BNP leaders - where are the members of Oikya Jote formed against the government by 54 parties? Where is their unity?”

Replying to a query about the recent internal clash of Chattogram University unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), Quader said necessary actions are being taken to this end and the AL is thinking afresh.

AL organising secretaries BM Mozammel Haque, SM Kamal Hossain, Mirza Azam and Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapan were, among others, present at the press conference.
