BNP serves show cause notices to 45 leaders

BNP has served show cause notices to 45 grassroots leaders for participating in the third phase of Upazila Parishad election for the post chairman and vice chairman, flouting the party decision.

In a letter signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, they have been asked to reply to show cause notices within 48 hours.

Rizvi said, “Many leaders are withdrawing their candidacy from the polls after receiving the show cause notices. But, it is not possible to say the exact number of expelled leaders right now.”

A total of 80 leaders were expelled from the party for taking part in the first phase of polls, while 61 were expelled in the second phase.
