BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will return to the country following the withdrawal of all cases filed against him, the party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam said.
Fakhrul made the announcement upon his return from London at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Thursday (December 12) afternoon.
In response to journalists’ queries about Tarique’s return, Fakhrul said: “You [journalists] know there are many vindictive false cases against him. He will return to the country once the cases are disposed of or completed through the courts.”
Sharing Tarique’s message to the nation, Fakhrul said: “He urged everyone to protect the hard-earned victory in August, emphasizing that only an elected government can resolve the country’s instability and highlighting the importance of implementing minimal reforms before holding elections.”
